For the most part, I've been painting a lot of landscapes over the last year or two. Why?! It's something that seems to come natural. Whether you see them as representational of a specific landscape, or as something that is a little more non-specific and just a scene that "reminds you of a time...". I like painting landscapes. They allow me the freedom to make decisions about my subject while still maintaining the overall feeling of what I'm portraying and trying to say. I can take the sky from one piece, a tree, or bend in the road from another; mix them together and come up with a final layout that I think gives that feeling, a "remember when we..." kinda feeling.
At least that's how I feel about 'em anyway...
